H.A.P.I. Lab Programs & Services
H.A.P.I. Lab activities are divided into four primary areas:
Community Outreach and Awareness: The H.A.P.I. Lab is dedicated to enhancing wellness education on campus as well as in the community by participating in existing health-related programs and events. We also produce a variety of special programs and events of our own targeting students, faculty/staff and the community at large, with the intent to raise awareness of the H.A.P.I. Lab and to promote happy, healthy living at any age.
Wellness Coaching: We offer on-site wellness coaching, balance and strength training to H.A.P.I. Lab clients, including one-on-one consultations and screenings with a student trainer to create an individualized personal wellness program to fit the client's goals. This coaching features hands-on instruction and access to state-of-the-art fitness equipment. This system creates customized programs for each client through a personalized smart-card system. The equipment uses air pressure to modify exercise resistance and tracks the user's progress automatically. The H.A.P.I. Lab offers a supportive, welcoming and noncompetitive environment that prioritizes the privacy and comfort of our clients.
The H.A.P.I. Lab offers a variety of screenings, education and training programs for faculty, staff and community members. These include fall risk and balance screenings, fall prevention and balance training programs, fitness assessments and training programs and a variety of health education programs. The HAPI Lab also focuses on student training and research.
The H.A.P.I. Lab functions as a center for student and faculty research, offering facilities, resources and support to support the advancement of knowledge and education in the area of health and wellness.
