Ellen is a native of the Asheville area, attended East Carolina University as an undergraduate, and later the University of Toledo to earn a Master’s degree in Kinesiology. Her career has taken many paths with the focal point being health and wellness.

Ellen believes in personal responsibility in achieving and maintaining fitness, health and wellness. As individuals choose to become self directed, motivated and proactive towards wellness it is important to build strong supportive health connections.

She enjoys teaching, training and encouraging individuals to find a passion for activity and awareness through movement.

Education

  • Master of Education in Kinesiology with specialization in adaptive and therapeutic exercise.
  • She is currently certified by WellCoaches Corp. as a Wellness Coach. Ellen is also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer and holds a license with the state of NC as a massage therapist.
  • Most recently, Ellen has enrolled in the online graduate certificate program in Gerontology at ASU.

Special Interests

Ellen's volunteer work includes teaching health and safety courses for the American Red Cross.

Hobbies include hiking, biking, swimming and running.
